An open letter to everybody speaking my name
Let Me Introduce Myself
Hello, here “Passion” talking. I don’t usually write open letters.
I’m more prone to write love letters, but I think the occasion calls for it.
I’ve noticed that my name appears in lots of places lately.
Job offers, articles on LinkedIn, advertisements….
And the truth is that at first, I liked it, but little by little I realized that almost every time I was named they didn’t really talk about me.
I am very introverted and I usually interact with very few people.
People deeply in love, people who loved their profession in an unhealthy way and some more people like artists and writers.
Why everybody is naming me?
But now it’s different. I’m named in places where I don’t have a role to play.
Passion? In a place with a carpeted floor and full of people in suits? My cousin “Ambition” would be more at home here.
Passion? In a place where most people can’t wait for their boss to leave so they can go home? Here, I’d rather have my great-aunt “Motivation”.
